Admission to the Royal Tyrrell Museum for seniors (65+) is free for Seniors’ Week, June 2 – 8, 2025.
The Museum will offer exclusive programming for seniors on Tuesday, June 3 and Thursday, June 5.

Tuesday, June 3
1:15 p.m. – Seniors’ Hike ($5/person)
2:45 p.m. – Seniors’ Art of Casting ($5/person)

Seniors’ Hike (Outdoor Program)
Ages 65+, 75 minutes, $5/person, maximum 20 participants
Wander the badlands, discover fossils, and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring landscape on this low-impact hike with a Science Educator. The hike will be followed by time to socialize over light refreshments.
Please Note:
- The hike involves minor elevation changes and some unpaved, uneven terrain.
- The hiking distance is about 1 – 1.5 km.
- Participants must wear sturdy outdoor footwear and bring water.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to wear hats, use sunscreen, and bring hiking poles.
- Not accessible for wheeled mobility devices.
- In case of inclement weather, an indoor fossil matrix sorting activity will be offered instead.
Seniors’ Art of Casting (Indoor Program)
Ages 65+, 75 minutes, $5/person, maximum 20 participants
Art and science merge in this program led by a Science Educator. Paint a fossil cast and learn why museums make casts. The program will be followed by time to socialize over light refreshments.
Please Note:
- The program will be set up in a bright space.
- Participants will sit at tables while painting.
- No previous painting experience is required.
- The program is accessible for wheeled mobility devices.
