Admission
The Museum will provide free admission, with proof of teacher certification, to accommodate advance visits for teachers to check the facilities / activities for registered field trips.
Weather
Ensuring the safety of the students is of utmost importance. If your group is registered for the Seven Wonders of the Badlands – Guided Hike, and the weather is inclement, an alternate program will be offered or your money refunded.
Mandate
The Royal Tyrrell Museum is an Alberta Government funded heritage facility with a mandated responsibility to deal exclusively with the science of palaeontology based on the fossil record. By honouring this mandate, the Museum is not obliged to exhibit or debate other concepts on the origin of life.
Supervision
Supervision is the responsibility of the teacher and chaperones. We require 1 adult chaperone for every 6 - 8 students. Supervisors are asked to stay with their groups at all times.
Arrival at the Museum: Groups must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled program. This allows the teacher time to register at the Program Desk as well as receive a required Museum orientation. Groups that do not arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their program start time will be considered late. Late arrival may result in alteration or cancellation of your program. There will be no refunds for programs cancelled due to late arrival.
Lunch facilities
The Royal Tyrrell Museum cafeteria is available for school groups to order their lunch, but it is very busy from April through June. For information about group rates for meals, or using the cafeteria for bag lunches, contact the Cafeteria Manager at 403-823-8223. Groups may also eat lunch on the cafeteria patio or at the picnic tables on the south side of the Museum.
