Alberta Arts Days are here! In addition to regularly scheduled public programs throughout Alberta Arts Days on September 30, October 1 and 2, the Royal Tyrrell Museum will be offering extra family-friendly, art-filled activities.
Shutterbugs can sign up for a session with the Museum’s resident photographer as she teaches you about capturing the badlands on film. Then enter your favourite shots in the Museum’s photo contest on Flickr!
On Saturday and Sunday, visitors of all ages can register for two different hands-on workshops to create their very own dinosaur masks, or make a cast of a real fossil.
In addition to these activities, the Museum will also be offering a variety of FREE auditorium presentations and hands-on Science Breaks!

Friday, September 30
11:00 a.m. - Passion for the Past (video) Free!
1:30 p.m. - Science Break Free!
2:00 p.m. - Depth of Field: Join our resident photographer in the outdoor amphitheatre as she teaches you about capturing the badlands on film. Then enter your favourite shots in the Museum’s photo contest on Flickr. Free!
3:30 p.m. - Science Break Free!
4:00 p.m. - Behind the Scenes (video) Free!
Saturday, October 1 & Sunday, October 2
11:00 a.m. - Create-a-Cast: make and paint your own cast of a fossil while you discover the role casts play in the Museum exhibits, and get “hands-on” with some real fossils.

Noon to 3:00 p.m. - Dinosaur Masks: Release your inner artist and create your own dinosaur mask in our drop-in activity on our second floor. Free!
